Paolo Nutini scraps US tour with Matthews

Paolo Nutini has been forced to scrap his upcoming U.S. tour with legendary rocker Dave Matthews due to recording commitments. The Last Request star was set to accompany Grammy-winner Matthews on several stateside gigs next month (Jul08), but had to pull out because of his hectic schedule recording his second LP.

The star explains in his online blog, “It is with massive regret we’ve had to pull out of the Dave Matthews tour next month. “Making the record is the number one priority, so we don’t have the time for a month on the road.” Nutini shot to fame in the U.K. in 2006 with the release of his debut album These Streets reaching number three in the U.K. album chart.

Paolo Nutini lyrics - White Lies

This Paolo Nutini lyric is from the song White Lies from his album “These Streets”

There’s a heart on the line, and it rests with your eyes
please don’t fade and please don’t cry, ’cause it’s all white lies
take a chance watch it fall, grab too much and lose it all
now i’ve lost my disguise, it was all white lies

stay here, lie here with me, oh lo-fi, lonley sighs
I will roam lost but never alone, hide with me, hide

would it help if I tried, or has it sailed and passed me by
first love grows then it does, and its all white lies

stay here, lie here with me, oh lo-fi, lonley sighs
I will roam lost but never alone, hide with me, hide with me

now you move with the tide and ive heard you’ve found peace of mind
and I know that life’s design moves around white lies, white lies, white lies, white lies

Million Faces Lyrics from Paolo Nutini

This lyric is from the song Million Faces from Paolo Nutini’s album These Streets:

Oh the phone you know it never stops, it’s the last thing I hear at night
and the first thing in the morning.
and as I let it start to burn my head, you slowly creep into bed
and i’m done talking
you say you know how i’m feeling, I just need to try to settle down

Oh a million faces pass my way
Oh they’re all the same, nothing seems to change anytime I look around
Oh who knows just what the future holds
all I want to know is if it’s with you

Tired as hell and falling up the stairs, filled with a thousand cares as you walk out from the bedroom
though it feels like all my fire has gone, you just turn me on
can’t believe how much I want you
you say you know how i’m feeling, I just need to try to settle down

Oh a million faces pass my way
Oh they’re all the same, nothing seems to change anytime I look around
Oh who knows just what the future holds
all I want to know is if it’s with you

we’re distracted by the hard times, and the troubles that we make
let us throw them in the ocean, let it wash our cares away
oh the phone you know it never stops, it’s the last thing I hear at night
and the first thing in the morning

Oh a million faces pass my way
Oh they’re all the same, nothing seems to change anytime I look around
Oh who knows just what the future holds
all I want to know is if it’s with you

we’re distracted by the hard times, and the troubles that we make
let us throw them in the ocean, let it wash our cares away
oh the phone you know it never stops, it’s the last thing I hear at night
and the first thing in the morning

let it wash our cares away, let it wash our cares away…

New Shoes - Lyric

This is another lyric of Paolo Nutini, of his great song; New Shoes.

Start of the Lyric:

New Shoes

Woke up cold one tuesday,
I’m looking tired and feeling quite sick,
I felt like there was something missing in my day to day life,
So i quickly opened the wardrobe,
Pulled out some jeans and a T-Shirt that seemed clean,
Topped it off with a pair of old shoes,
That were ripped around the seams,
And i thought these shoes just don’t suit me.

Hey, I put some new shoes on,
And suddenly everything is right,
I said, hey, I put some new shoes on and everybody’s smiling,
It so inviting,
Oh, short on money,
But long on time,
Slowly strolling in the sweet sunshine,
And i’m running late,
And i dont need an excuse,
’cause i’m wearing my brand new shoes.

Woke up late one Thursday,
And i’m seeing stars as i’m rubbing my eyes,
And i felt like there were two days missing,
As i focused all the time,
And i made my way to the kitchen,
But i had to stop from the shock of what i found,
A room full of all my friends dancing round and round,
And i thought hello new shoes,
Bye bye them blues.

Take me wondering through these streets,
Where bright lights and angels meet,
Stone to stone they take me on,
I am walking to the break of dawn.

Take me wondering through these streets

End of the Lyric New Shoes.

Jenny dont be Hasty

This is actually one of my favorite songs from Paolo Nutini. Knowing the lyrics is nice. You know what he is saying about when you have the lyrics at your side. It is good to understand the song. So here the lyric of “Jenny don’t be Hasty” from Paolo Nutini.

Jenny don’t be Hasty Lyric:

You said you’d marry me if I was 23
But I’m one that you can’t see if I’m only 18
Tell me who made these rules
Obviously not you
Who are you answering to?

Oh, Jenny don’t be hasty
No, don’t treat me like a baby
Let me take you where you’ll let me
Because leaving just upsets me

I’ll be around again to see the other men
They’re more adequate in the age department
I did not think you cared.
There’d be no problems here
But now you’re looking at me like you’re disgusted
Then I’m definitely waiting for you to smile and change your mind
Then I’ll say I’m sorry and I’ll wrap my arms ’round your body
I really hope that you forgive in a hurry
And don’t just ask me to leave

Oh, Jenny don’t be hasty
Don’t treat me like a baby
Let me take you where you’ll let me
Because leaving just upsets me

Oh, Jenny you are crazy!
First I’m perfect, then I’m lazy
And I was calling you my baby
Now it sounds like you just left me.
And it kills me!

End of the Jenny don’t be Hasty Lyric.

Start of Paolo Nutini

Paolo Nutini is a very popular singer and songwriter from Paisley (Scotland). Paolo Nutini has no formal musical training and his family was expecting that Paolo followed his father into the family business, a fish and chip shop. Paolo Nutini his grandfather was the first one that encouraged him to sing. A teacher at Paolo his school who recognized his talent also encouraged him to sing.

Paolo Nutini left school to sell t-shirts for a company and he spent three years to learn the music business and how to perform live, alone or with a band. Paolo Nutini also worked as a studio hand at Glasgow’s Park Lane Studio.

His big chance came in 2003, when he attended a concert for David Sneddon his return to his home town of Paisley. David Sneddon was delayed, and as the winner of a pop quiz, Paolo Nutini was given the chance to perform some of his own songs on stage during the wait. The reaction of the crowd was amazing. Paolo Nutini his song career was reality. One of the people in the crowd at that concert is his manager.

A journalist saw Paolo Nutini performing at the Queen Margaret Union and invited him to appear live on Radio Scotland. At that time Paolo was only 17 years old.

Paolo moved to London and performed regularly at a pub in Balham. At that time Paolo was still legally too young to drink alcohol himself. Paolo Nutini was discovered and other radio and live appearances followed.

In 2006 Paolo played a number of sold out concerts in the United Kingdom and performed at a wide variety of venues worldwide. Paolo was invited to appear with the Rolling Stones at the Don Valley Stadium in August 2006. Paolo Nutini is a great singer and the lyrics are amazing.
